Other than buying a new computer in the near future, I decided to slowly upgrade my current build.

Assuming the RAM and Video Card would be the best performance improving upgrades to start with. First do I replace/upgrade RAM or new Video Card. The programs that I normally have running are listed below with my build specs.

Current Rig:

CORSAIR GS600 600W PSU
AMD Phenom II X4 910
ATI Radeon HD 4350 Upgrade to HD 6450 2GB 64-bit or HD 6570 1GB 128-bit, maybe??
4GB DDR3 RAM (2 x 2GB) Upgrade to 1x2GB 1x4GB for 6GB from 4GB

Thx for getting back to my thread. Do you think putting +2GB RAM more would be effective than going with an SSD.

If it was me, and games were not a priority but performance and databases were more important I would do the following.

All new shiny ram, matched pairs are a good thing - http://www.ebuyer.com/311813-crucial-8gb-ddr3-1600mhz-ballistix-tactical-memory-blt2cp4g3d1608dt1tx0ceu £52

Then an SSD for the Operating System, something like http://www.ebuyer.com/410473-samsung-128gb-840-pro-series-ssd-mz-7pd128bw £110

I would then jam my databases on a RAID0 setup for max performance, (RAID0, if a drive dies the RAID array dies too so make sure you have a backup!) 2 of these at £50 each - http://www.ebuyer.com/319639-seagate-1tb-barracuda-internal-hard-drive-st1000dm003

Your graphics card doesnt really matter from the games you listed and will have no relation to DB performance. Ebay your old RAM etc :)
The added bonus of this is it can all go in a new system you may build in the future :)
