Hello,

I have a Dell Optiplex 3010.

The motherboard is the 042P49 and currently has a Intel i5-3470 installed.

I am trying to replace this with an Intel i3-2120 so I can use the i5 elsewhere but once I replace it and try and boot the system nothing happens and the monitor screen remains black. Putting back in the old CPU solves the issue.

Not sure what to do. Can anyone help me?

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply.

I can't confirm working until my new mobo arrives today but the individual I purchased it from has told me it is working without issue.

Once I change over the CPUs I power the machine on and it behaves as normal as far as I can tell. PSU self test returns a green light, all fans spin and continue spinning. I can feel the HDD spinning also. The problem is there is just no display anymore (monitor is blank).

When I then put the i5 back in the PC first loads and gives the error message 'Error! Memory configured incorrectly. Please enter setup for memory information details.' I then restart the machine and it boots up as normal into the OS.

Fault was caused by a broken CPU. See thread: http://www.pchelpforum.com/xf/threads/asrock-z77-extreme4-dr-debug-error-4f.151837/

This thread can now be closed. Thank you.
