Which samsung SSD should I get for my gaming computer. Additionally, I have a 500gb HDD for storage such as pictures, and other junk.

You did not mention budget constraints.
Larger SSD's are a bit faster.
Buy a 500gb SSD, forget the HDD and be done with it.
But, otherwise, buy a 240gb ssd. It will be large enough to hold a bunch of games.
120gb is enough for the os and a handful of games. More than that, you will be needing to juggle game placement on two drives.
As to which, any Samsung will be good. Intel too if it is cheaper.
The PRO has a longer lifespan, but that is really a non issue for desktop users.

Bigger is generally better especially considering that for TRIM to operate effectively there needs to be a minimum of 20% free capacity.

What is TRIM?

Basically each sector in a SSD can only be written oven so many times before it fails and becomes useless. If you were to use a program to continuously write 1's in each sector of a SSD and HDD over and over again, you would fine the SSD will be the 1st to die unless the HDD suffers a mechanical failure. TRIM basically reserves sectors on the SSD to help postpone the eventual failure of a SSD drive. I think I read some where that the average expected life span of a SSD is about 5 years based on "typical usage".

It is best to move the pagefile off of the SSD and onto the HDD which frees up some space on the SSD and reduces wear and tear. Also, if you have not disabled hibernation (and you have no need for it) then you can free up around 4GB - 8GB (I forget exactly) of space on the SSD.

If you are using Win 7, then you can click the following link to disable/enable hibernation. It may work with Win 8 as will since it is basically an enhanced version of Win 7.
