To be frank, I want a cheap rig that can run Hawken. But is that contradictory? I'm new to this building computers thing and at the moment I feel overloaded with information. Is it possible to be under 600 dollars and run that game without skipping all over the place? Like, medium graphics? 1920 resolution on a monitor?

My ultimate goal is to try building something entry level... But with it I can play SMITE and HAWKEN at least until the new Splinter Cell game for the Xbox comes out. Is.. Xbox taboo here? I hope the community can overlook that I want to play xbox, but I'm sure this community its better than the ones I know. Besides, the new Splinter Cell multiplayer looks awesome.

Anyway, I don't want to Overclock it. Also, I don't need expansion or upgrade capabilities. It's not practical, but this is going to be used for a few months. I get a little bit of experience and one day when I've milked the entertainment out of Splinter Cell and whatever comes out this holiday season I'll build something cool with the money I'll win from competitive Splinter Cell, haha.

Would a Phenom II x4 965 with a Radeon hd 7750 cut it? Or is that too cheap?

Cool. I feel like I could really use this to expand my knowledge. You want me to pick a range? Probably at fair. Would that run Hawken well? And am I able to sacrifice anything I don't need to cut cost, based on what I'm asking for? For example, Toms hardware says in an article that the fx4300 is better and costs more then the phenom II x4 965 BECAUSE it has great overclocking capabilities. I'm not interested in clocking therefore i'd go phenom. Since this list of parts don't put me into consideration I feel like I'm at square one at the "overloaded with info," giving me more questions than answers. For now I'll keep looking at this list though, Thank you

Cool! There's this Youtube video of Hawken running with high details using a 650Ti. You might want to check this out just for reference.

Slowmo, you were right. When you gave me your parts list I looked at the 7790 and I like it a lot... Now that I think about it, everything I do on Pcpartspick goes back to your build. Haha. Anyway, how do I put my parts list in your type of format? Do I publish it?

Could you look at this list? I really just cut out into the phenom because I like amd and that promo at microcenter will discontinue by the time I get there. By the way, I have very little clue what to look for in the mobo but... I don't need it to take more than 8gb of ram.

what do you think?

Click the "BBCode Markup" button on the top right corner and copy and paste the formatted text.

The thing about pcpartspicker is that it doesn't include all possible models and vendors (as is the case with the 7790).

Also, since the PSU has gone up in price, the Rosewill HIVE Series HIVE-650 650W would be the better buy at the same price point.

Lastly, go with the FX-6300 with a motherboard bundle from Microcenter if you want to go with AMD.

The MSI 970A-G43 bundled with the FX-6300 is currently $149.98 at Microcenter.
