Hi,
So i got this brand new pc, made by me:
i5 3470, 8 gb rams, saphire radeon 7870 xt on the gigabyte ga-b75-d3 mainboard,

However it's 2 days so far and my graphic card is does not appear in device manager, nor in bios, i updated my drivers, i read and read but still no result.

Basically i can't make the 7870xt show anything, only the integrated graphic card works, when i connect the 7870 xt the screen stays black.

The 7870 spins it's fans, and my source is a high power plus, 500 wats.
i'm turning here because i'm honestly out of options or ideeas.

if you think of updating the bios, the bios update only updates the ME Firmware... help? :(

On your mb check that the four/eight pin pci power plug is connected. You should used one the four pin black connector on your power supply.on some ps there welded into an eight pin connector. On the gpu make sure if there two six pin connectors both are filled. The bios file should be on the mb vendor page ll new mb use rom or cap files now. Download the bios file and unzip it it should be a rom file.copy the file to a USB stick and use the mb bios updater that inside the bios set up screens.

hey Smorizio, four eight pin pci power plug, i'm looking into this.

and i'm not sure i understand correctly, even if the update of bios sais it only updates ME Firmware whch is for processor i should update it?

There two hard ware your messing up. The Sata chipset me firmware update is for the Sata chipset only not the mb. Under vendor download there should be a link that says bios. The gigabyte bios files sart with letter f. Look into your bios main screen it in the corner have the rev like f@@.
Just make sure the rev your using is close to the last published file.

I had a similar issue when I got my 7870XT. I tried running mine on a CM Extreme Power Plus 500W PSU that had 18A on the 12V rails and it would never boot up, just boot to a black screen, the fans on the card would kick on but no video. Once I got my new PSU (OCZ ModXStream Pro 600) a day later (which I ordered when I purchased my 7870XT) I connected it up and everything worked. I've had no issues since.

I am not guaranteeing that is what your issue is, but it would be a good place to start.

What are the power ratings on your PSU?

it might be the power, after some tries without the ram and dvd rom unit the computer caught it for a few minutes and then in shut down again, after restart it didn't work again...

the PSU is at 80%+
