Hey. This will be my first time building a pc. I will be buying the system in 1 month exactly, but i created this thread now because my exams start next week and i want to buy the parts and start building it when my exams are finished(1 month). So lets begin! :D

Approximate Purchase Date: 1 month from now.
Budget Range: 850-900 Euros
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Talking to Skype, Surfing the internet, listening to music, watching movies.

Are you buying a monitor: Yes but its price is not included in the 850-900 euros.

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Greek websites, since im greek. Like: plaisio.gr, public.gr, you.gr, multirama.gr

Location: Greece
Parts Preferences: Nothing specific. Just idk which CPU to get between: i5 3570k, i5 3570, or AMD FX 8350. And for GPU... AMD radeon HD 7950, or NVidia GTX 670 (any other suggestion on CPUs and GPUs will be also appreciated).
BTW i also need a good WiFi adapter cause my room is 1 floor away from the router(though my cell phone can connect to wifi.Very weak signal that if i move it will disconnect, but it has connection up there :p)

Overclocking: Maybe(I want my system to last for about 3 years till i get another part so idk if i should overclock)

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe(i dont think i should spend money on more than 1 graphics card right now though.)

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 preferably. But i want a monitor that costs 130 euros or less.

Additional Comments: Will be playing games like League of Legends, Dota2, Final Fantasy XIV: A realm reborn, Portal 2, CoD: MW3 etc while talking at skype and maybe listening to music.

Thanks for your help.

This is what i posted in my OP... these are all greek stores...

Not really. Intel's new processors should launch at prices quite similar to their current ones. And their old processors usually don't drop in price even after they're replaced by newer ones.

...why not i5 3570k and/or newer graphics card?

The 7870 Myst Edition is a newer graphics card - it's sort of like a Radeon 7930. And it beats the NVIDIA 660 in most benchmarks. I'd put a 3570K and Z77 motherboard in there but that would go way over your original budget.

Maybe something like this:

Case: Corsair Carbide 300R - 87.84 €
PSU: Seasonic S12 II 620W - 98.88 €
Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V LX - 112.00 €
CPU: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i5-3570K - 212.90 €
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo - 35.23 €
RAM: 8GB G.Skill Ares DDR3 1600 MHz 1.5V - 62.51 €
HD: 500GB Western Digital Caviar Blue - 57.90 €
Optical: Lite On Bulk DVD Burner - 25.90 €
Video Card: Power Color Radeon HD 7870 XT Myst Edition - 234.00 €

Total: 927.16 €

SAPPHIRE HD7950 VAPOR-X OC 3GB GDDR5 PCI-E RETAIL
http://www.e-shop.gr/product?id=PER.510811

How about this graphics card? any build with this graphics card and/or an i5 3570k cpu?

INTEL CORE I5-3570K 3.40GHZ LGA1155
http://www.e-shop.gr/product?id=PER.558362
OR
AMD FX-8350 4.0GHZ 8-CORE BOX
http://www.e-shop.gr/product?id=PER.559642

I read somewhere that when haswell cpus are released the current intel cpus price might fall or/and the mobos price thats compatible with them might fall?
Can someone verify that too?

That graphics card is a little better than the 7870 XT. But it costs about a hundred euros more. It's not worth that much more.

When Haswell releases, the current Intel CPUs (Ivy Bridge) will probably stay at the same prices. That's what usually happens when Intel launches new CPUs. The motherboards for Ivy Bridge might get a bit cheaper, but I wouldn't expect all that much.

Hmm? Ok, but how about the i5 3570k or the AMD FX 8350? Should i get one of those?

Well, if you really can't wait for Haswell, then each of them would be a good buy. The 3570K is better for less threaded workloads, including many games. The FX 8350 is better for multithreaded work, including a few of the newer games. For your usage, I think the 3570K would probably be the better choice. But the 8350 would still do very well.

Its not that i cant wait for haswell, its about the money. When haswell comes out it might be more expensive than the other cpus and i want a good graphics card too... and what do you mean? if i were to do more stuff on the pc the 8350 would be better??? because its cheaper than the i5 and if its as good as, if not better than the i5, then i would prefer buying it...

Haswell doesn't look like it will be noticeably more expensive than Ivy Bridge. The Core i5-4670K that replaces the 3570K is supposedly going to cost the same, give or take a few dollars.

As for the 8350, it's more like doing different types of things. Like video rendering, where its 8 cores give it an advantage over the 3570K. In most games, it's not as good as the 3570K. So for gaming, the 3570K is generally a better buy. It just doesn't mean that the 8350 is downright terrible for gaming.

And by that you mean? The release date is unknown or something? Or they have already been released?
