diff between gaming laptop/other

so i'm thinking about getting a laptop but i was wondering why a laptop needs to be specific in order to have good game play, if a laptop can play games well shouldnt it be able to do anything else well?, if not whats the difference

It is all to do with the hardware in the laptop. Gaming laptop's will have usually an i5 or i7 CPU, at least 8GB of RAM and a really powerful GFX card. Gaming laptops can do everything else well, like video editing, browsing and everything else aswell.
