If you have reset your router then you can login to your router's control panel (192.168.1.1) on any web browser and change your connection password. Use that new password with your iPad.
Not every router uses the same IP. You can't know that his router IP is 192.168.1.1
Normally manufacturers stick to a certain one or two addresses across all their products. These are what I know from memory.
BT HomeHub - 192.168.1.254
Belkin - 192.168.2.1
Netgear - 192.168.0.1
Buffalo - 192.168.11.1
D-Link - 192.168.0.1
Linksys - 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
Apple - 10.0.1.1
They also use standard login details, which you can find out with a quick google search.
This is why you should always change your routers SSID and admin password. Because I could walk past and see your router broadcasting as say Belkin54G. I know that if untouched it's IP is 192.168.2.1 and the password is blank. From there I can do pretty much anything I want with your network
