Hello Gentlemen,
All my life I have been building desktops, from basic home computing to dream machines, you name it I've build it. However I am not well versed in the market of laptops.
This summer I will be prototyping using 3D CAD, and eventually 3D print my design. I will be going away from home for this, and thus I am not able to take my desktop with me. I am in need of a laptop the can smoothly run 3D CAD programs, and that is lightweight and portable.
Bear in mind that I do have a lot of experience modding computers, so I will most likely upgrade the RAM and HDD. All I really need is for it to have a nice processor, decent discrete graphics, and slim/lightweight profile.
So far I am considering this as my most likely option
ASUS UX32VD
intel i5
Nvidia GT 620M
I will be upgrading the stock RAM (4GB) to 10 GB of corsair vengeance 1600 MHz
I will upgrading the stock HDD to a corsair Force GT 256 GB SSD
I want to know if there is a better option out there. My budget is set at $1000. (This budget does not include upgrades) My question to you gents is if there is a better option that matches my criteria and budget?
