I hope next month to start building my first HTPC. I have been looking for a reason to upgrade my memory. I was toying with the idea of using the memory in my system for the HTPC setup. Then getting 32gigs of memory to put back in my gaming desktop.
I have read a few different places that upgrading past 16gigs of memory is completely pointless. Most the items I found saying that where year old or older.
Another question I have is would 4 gigs be enough to run a HTPC? Its going to be performing pretty basic functions, such as youtube, netflix, amazon video, etc. The only intensive thing I have planed for it is Blue-ray play back hopefully at 1080p resolutions.
Thanks for the help
