Hello. I am in the process of ordering all the components but recently decided to build my first computer.

after plentiful research this is what I came up with. I would like to know what the community thinks of what I'm going to be putting together :)

Thanks for any input.

xion xon-980-bk case (chose it for its large size/room for biggest gpus)
gigabyte ga-z77x-ud3h
i5 3570k
g.skill sniper 1600 2x4
corsair neutron gtx 120g ssd
seasonic x 650w

samsung dvd burner
handmedown network card

and Windows 8

PLEASE NOTE: I am not purchasing a gpu at the moment (partly for financial reasons and partly because) I am waiting for the hd 9000 series to launch.
I will probably be purchasing a 9800 series, maybe a 9950....

I will be using my 32inch samsung led hdtv as my moniter.

... so that's all. What do you think?

In your place I would use this case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146092&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=
It is very well regarded (Tom's ranked it as best out of 15 mid-range gaming case they compared), and with the present discount is equal in price to your current case.
Other than that, looks like a perfectly fine build.

Edit: Thanatos, I'm not sure you're correct about that release date. I'd heard Q4 2013 or thereabouts.

Forget the low voltage Sniper RAM and grab a good Corsair or G.SKill pair.

The Radeon 8000 series hasn't been released yet, so you'll have to wait at a while to get one of the 9000 series. Also, AMD releases the fastest GPUs first and the eventually the more budget friendly ones. So, I'd guess you'd have to wait until Jan/Feb 2014 for the 9000 series.

Don't forget a cooler for overclocking:

Actually, AMD isn't going to be releasing a proper 8000 series. They're all just rebrandings of older cards. According to an interview Tom's did a while back, the Volcanic Islands are coming in 2013 (http://www.tomshardware.com/news/Volcanic-Islands-GPU-Sea-Island,22443.html)
