I will be getting a custom built computer and be using it for gaming, school, social life, game recording and video editing, use Photoshop, programing apps and game design using Unreal Engine 3, Blender and CryEngine 3 so here it is:

OS-
Windows 8 Pro 64-bit

CPU-
Intel i7-3770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor

Motherboard-
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD4H

Memory-
Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3 1600MHZ CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9 Memory

Primary Hard Disk-
Samsung 840 PRO 128GB SATA 6Gb/s SSD MZ-7PD128BW
Secondary Hard Disk-
WD Caviar™ Black™ WD2002FAEX 2 TB SATA 6.0GB/s HDD

Optical Drive-
LG GH22NP20 22x Super Multi Black Dual Layer DVD+RW Writer

Video Card-
GIGABYTE GV-R795WF3-3GD Radeon HD 7950 3GB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

CPU Cooler:
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

Power Supply:
CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Case-
Cooler Master RC-932-KKN5-GP HAF 932 Advance Full Tower Case - ATX, Black, SuperSpeed USB 3.0

What do you guys think? Anything I could do to make it better? Oh, case has a giant fan on each side and a red LED fan on the front, can you hide give me a link so I can get the small red ones for the side? Thank you so much for your time!

kinda confusing..... game dev typically use shitty computers to develope games...? also with such a small ssd do you have more hard drives you will be using for storage because game recording can take up a lot of space and so can all the stuff you want to do.

thats way to much power supply then you need. 500w is more then enough and the ud3h is a better buy.

Thanks and I like Windows 8 start screen

I will be using bandicam and it compresses the videos to extremely small sizes. And anyway the 2tb will stand for a bit (my previous HDD 512GB lasted me 8 yrs)

"Game developers using shitty computers" ..What?

Didn't you see all stuff he is using this PC for anyways.

SSD is fine for Windows and applications. He has a 2TB black drive for everything else.

750watts is fine, he may want to crossfire later, and he will still have plenty of headroom.

The last thing some should do would be to install anything made by Stardock! Plus Windows 8 is great the way it is there is no need to destroy it by installing crap from Stardock.

I'd only replace mobo with UD5H, UD4H is kind of discontinued for some reason, plus it doesnt have mSATA (dont know if you will actually want to use on board SSD)... other than that it looks just like my taste :)

Ugh, what is wrong with you...
Start8 is a great piece of software, it just makes Windows 8 look more like 7.

Windows 8 isn't fine the way it is for me and many others, just because you like the metro interface doesn't mean others have to deal with it or should have to. There needs to be a choice. You don't understand because you don't feel what it's like to be forced to use something you don't like or feel uncomfortable with.

I needed a new Windows license so I bought 8 since it's better on the technical side. I don't like metro, it's not very productive, and Start8 makes it much more comfortable and easier on me. Start8 makes Windows 8 more productive and usable.

Metro is great for a tablet, but for a desktop environment it's simply terrible, at least from my perspective. Why would I want to search through over 100 large and ugly colourful boxes for one of my many specific programs?

If I installed OS X on your computer and said it's fine the way it is, would you be okay with that? No, OS X would be ridiculous to use (unless you are some kind of hipster or can't use computers) when you could be using Windows or Linux instead.

Whew went off on a rant!

well you know what they say, once you go black you'll never go back!
so... instead of trying to stick to old technology maybe try to accommodate to new ones... or just stick to the old one itself. in my opinion (well yea its MY OPINION) there is no point in turning new into old.

Everyone was forced to have the new design. If it doesnt look work differently what's the point of a new OS if you just want them keep doing the same design. I used to hate Windows 8 until my friend showed me it and I got used to it. You just have watch a tut on YouTube. There's a 15min one that's very helpful. It was the same thing with Windows XP and now everyone loves it. I talked to a lot of first time PC users and they told me once they got used to it they LOVED it and found it much easier than Windows 7. Anyway just give it some time and everyone will get used to it (sales for W8 have increased very much)

Classic start menu isn't old technology, it's just a user interface and a productive desktop design, for me at least. The key hasn't changed in forever, but we still use it over other ways because it's easy and works well.

I have used the new metro interface during the release preview for a good while and it was incredibly simple and easy to use, but when your using lots of stuff, switching back and forth between metro and desktop can be kind of tiring after awhile. I just want you to see it from my point of view, I see it from yours, for a basic PC user metro isn't all that bad.

I'm sure given time metro will improve and be really good though in the future. :D
