Hey so i'm not the best at reading hardware and knowing the all the intricate details. I've tried giving this a google but i can not really find the answer i am looking for.

So basically what is better for me. GTX titan, or gtx 690. Both the same price, i do not see how they differ?

I know my current setup will suffice (current set up http://i.imgur.com/l6DpDFt.png )

The only thing i WAS worried about was that my sandybridge i7 could only use pcie 2.0, eventhough my mobo has 3.0, i DID worry about this until i saw this article on the 690 ( http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/53901-nvidia-geforce-gtx-690-review-25.html ) so yeh apparently 2.0 and 3.0 makes next to no difference lol. who woulda knew huh!?

Anyhow, i play on 1080p, never thought of going over it, 1 monitor all the way. So with that in mind what would be the gpu for me?

Cheers guys, answers on this would be obliged.

Just get a GTX 680 and an SSD.
If you're only playing at 1080p and not downsampling/ only using 4x msaa, then you don't need either a 690 or Titan.

To be completely honest, you only really need a 660 Ti for a good 1080p experience.

Overkill? your probably right lol, but it does have a purpose because i want to play at 120hz on this benQ monitor and at max settings you get like 50-58 frames with a 680 i believe so a card like the titan and 690's apt.

700 series you speak of!? this was not on my radar, is there a guesstemated date for the release of this card?

To my understanding, within the month. There have been a torrent of articles about in recently, including on TH.

he shoots.. he scores! that's my birthday haha.

alright folks youve sparked me up on a new topic, i can't find any benchmarks online, do y'all think it is going to cream the 680?

but cheers you's have saved me some money big time lol that sounds like the card for me.

Based on current information, it should be significantly more powerful than the 680. Lacking benchmarks, I couldn't comment as to exactly how much more powerful.

Glad we could help.

Fantastic guys, the help is appreciated as always! im going to wait and see how things pan out with the 780. hopefully they get it up on amazon in a jiffy with the asus version, but something tells me that will not come for like a month down the line lol.

Thanks, chris.
