Hi everyone,

I'm looking to do my first ever build and I was hoping someone could double check my research to make sure that everything will fit in the case and is compatible. My goal is to use this machine primarily as an htpc, but I also would like to do some emulation (ideally ps2 and wii). I am on a relatively tight budget, so I'm willing to sacrifice some performance/quality on the occasional emulation so long as I can keep the price near $500, output my video at 1080p via hdmi, and view my dvd and blueray collection.

What do you guys think? Will the parts chosen below work? Can you guys accomplish the same result for cheaper? Thanks in advance for the advice.

hello there,

here is my suggestion for your system, i think it will be more effective and better for your overall usage.
included a better gpu and more storage space thinking you'll eventually need it.
upgraded the motherboard significantly for a future update possibility.
replace cpu to an older but proven powerful enough for recent software needs

edit: also this cpu has good overclocking possibility if you may need
