Hello everyone,

I was wondering if I could have your help fixing a few minor nuisances. I just recently completed my first build and am having 2 minor problems. Whenever I start up my computer it doesn't boot to windows. The computer gives me an american megatrends splash screen type of thing. From here I also notice it gives me a "CPU Fan error". On this screen I can press F1 to go to set up. after hitting F1 I am sent into the UEFI BIOS where I have repeatedly arranged my boot order which it is clearly not following. The order I have set is first to my HDD and then the optical drive. If anyone can help me fix one or both of these issues it would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you may of forgot to hook up the fan to the motherboard from your cpu cooler, or you plugged into the wrong header. There should be a four pin power connector next to the cpu that is labeled cpu fan.

Thanks! there were two four pin headers and I guess I chose the wrong one. all is well now. booting up correctly and no error. I think my computer is actually less loud too. maybe it was just always running at full speed when it was in the wrong header.
