which card to replace my 7870xt

My 7870xt is whining again and id like to return it to canadacomputers since its within the 15 day direct replacement policy. I have tried it in my brothers computer and this one whined just as the previous one did, so i know it's not the psu. I'd like to get a new card that isn't a 7870 so its either a 660ti or 7950 or a 670. But the 7950 use the same chip as the 7870xt so it might happen again. I'm leaning towards the 670 or 660ti mostly the 670. AMD has great cards for the price but mine seem to be riddled with problems and i use an hdmi cable for audio so i wasn't to thrilled that they can't properly play sound when idling. So these are my choices:

ye, but id get the 670, more power, more memory bandwidth = better gameplay in huge maps (BF3, Crysis 3 etc)

Im using the Asus GTX 670 DC II (Non TOP) and im very happy with it, runs virtually silent and very cool, i think its the best 670 out there in terms of noise and temps, you can also OC it quite well, im running mine at 1100mhz and very stable,Plus the cooler looks awesome and also comes with a backplate, here, read this review from Toms on seven GTX 670s 670 Roundup - Toms Hardware

4GB doesnt really help unless you're gaming at 1440p or more and that too.. performance gain is minimal, moreover, the EVGA 670 FTW, while being an excellent card, uses a rotary blower fan which tends to be louder at higher loads and fan speeds, plus you have to spend extra if you want a backplate for your card.. and spending 60 - 70$ extra for an additional 2GB VRAM is a no brainer when their performance is the same

my point exactly, if you can spend $460 on a 670, why not add another $30 and get a 680.. :pt1cable:.. just go for the 2GB version.. cheaper and same performance, the good thing is, you can oc it till 1150mhz (faster than a reference 680) and if you're lucky you could even reach 1300 mhz stable... mine's max stabe OC is 1150 so, didnt wanna run at its limit so, tuned it down by 50mhz and voila - a 670 faster than a 680

an oced 660ti can get the same performance as a stock 670 - same thing as 670 oced and 680 which i said earlier
but because of its limited mem interface at 192 bit - i doubt it will perform higher than a stock 670 at 256 bit (same as 680)

I went with the asus 670. It has an amazing fan on it. At 60% it's still quieter than my 140mm case fan. The loudest thing in my case is now the stock cpu fan. I also got a decent OC of 200 on the core and 400 on the memory.
