670 now or wait for the 770?

I'm wondering if I should get the GTX 670 this week, or wait to get a GTX 770?

If I get the GTX 670 now, I'll get this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121707&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL051613&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL051613-_-EMC-051613-Index-_-DesktopGraphicsVideoCards-_-14121707-L09B]

I currently have an XFX HD 6770 and it works ok, but it won't overclock even a little, and gets really hot, especially since I upgraded my monitor and now have 1920x1080, and I only get maybe 40fps on Diablo 3 with medium/high settings. I'd like to stay with a single card setup.

Should I get the Asus GTX 670 now, or should I wait for the 770? And anybody know when the GTX 7xx series are coming out?

Asus Sabertooth Z77 mobo
3770k @ 4.5
G.SKILL Ripjaws X 16GB DDR3 2133
Mushkin 240GB SSD OS drive
Windows 7 Pro

40FPS on Diablo 3, ouch.

I think you should just get a 670. That's an awesome high powered card. Right now that card can easily max out Crysis 3 and that game is what I think sets the standard for everything. Welcome to the world of PC gaming! Every year they always come out with something slightly better. You can wait if you want but it's going to be several months before we see a 7xx series on the market.

If I were you, I would get the 670 later. The performance gains are so minimal it's not worth the extra few hundred bucks. I have 2x GTX 670 4GB now. Then when prices drop for the 6 series, I'm going to grab another one.

You can lookup the benchmarks for the 7 series and compare them to the 6 series if you'd like. As it stands, I know the FPS difference between the equivalent card is only ~5 fps. So, it's really up to how much money you have/want to spend.

Right now, that Asus is on sale for $348 after a $20 rebate, do you think the 670 will drop in price that much afterward?
Thanks

Why is everyone acting like the 7 series prices are going to double compared to the 6 series? Every rumor that I've seen places the prices at about the same. http://videocardz.com/nvidia/geforce-700/geforce-gtx-770

I jumped on it... couldn't resist. I bet the 670's might eventually drop to that price, I am gonna SLI it with my Gigabyte 670, a little unsure about only 2gb VRAM for my triple monitor set up, but I am taking the risk.

It's perspective of the quality vs price, not really the price itself. It's like when you pay $500 for a good graphics card, you're okay with spending that money, but spending $30 on a mousepad is kind of outrageous.

Since the gains from the 7 series compared to the 6 series are so minimal, it makes the prices seem outrageous for what you're getting. When the 7 series comes out, the prices of the 6 series are going to drop meaning you will be paying around $100-$200 more for a few FPS if that.

That's why no one complains about the Titan, it's $1k, but it's money well spent since it's the best card on the market.

Honestly guys, what the hell?

All info there are atm, indicate that the GTX770 will be basically the GTX680 with slight improvements, that's more than "marginal improvement" compared to a GTX670.

Aside from that release is scheduled within may 2013, not "several months away".

As for the price there are no substantial infos at all. There are rumors they will go up in prices (well at least the GTX780), but only thing that is a fact, is that nvidia priced the GTX series always similar to each other (Like 680 costed like 580, 670 like 570, etc) so far.

That roadmap says Maxwell will come 2014.
But the GTX700 series will be Kepler-Refresh. Maxwell is going to be 800.

(Also: Fudzilla, which are usually right in this matters, confirmed the may launch again:

The 780 has a "paper" launch in exactly five hours and 26 minutes...today in other words. The 770 in 3 days five hours and 26 minutes.
However, don't expect stock at your local estore for three weeks or so. But reviews will be out by the end of this weeks from the lucky sites who get early samples.
