I am trying to make a small router out of this Jetway J7F5M miniboard:

with this module:

I am planning on installing linux and all, but I have a weird problem. If you don't use the module, the miniboard starts normally, passes mem test detects hard disks and all.
But when you attach the module, it passes the mem test then at the moment when you would expect it to detect hard disks it completely halts. By, this I mean you cannot even turn it off with the button, you have to manually disconnect it from power source. Everything is frozen.
So it cannot work with this module, it just stops. But the miniboard came with it.
So my question here is: how can I determine whether the problem is in motherboard port or the module?
How can I run some kind of diagnostics?
