Hi guys, I've been researching about this topic: AVR versus an extension cord with fuse, but I can't find an answer.
Here's the question: will my 13amp fused extension cord act as an AVR when there is a power surge (lightning, over-volting, etc..)?? I run my new rig 24/7 and I'm afraid if there will be an over voltage or a lightning storm here. I know that an AVR will act as a surge protector if such an event will occur, but I also know that my fused extension cord will trip off if there will be a power surge. Can anyone in the "electricity" department confirm this? I don't want to toast my rig, I don't think anyone does..
