I have a problem with my new graphics card. It's Radeon HD 7950 from VTX3D.

Nothing shows up when I plug in to my VGA monitor (I'm using a converter). It works fine with an integrated graphics card. I tried different things like checking all connectors, RAM, and so on. I also tried plugging it via HDMI cable to my LCD TV. Same story. Works like a charm on iGPU while Radeon just spins the fans and that's it :( I don't have Windows installed yet but I updated BIOS

Here are my specs

- Intel i5 3470
- ASUS P8Z77-V LX2
- Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz
- VTX3D HD 7950 3GB
-Seagate Barracuda 1TB
-Corsair VS 600 Watts
- HP 2007w Monitor (VGA)

its supposed to be like that, i believe your card is DOA, test it on a different pc to be sure, if its dead, RMA

Yes, I always ground myself before dealing with computer components. It's brand new. The whole system arrived just today.

Hmm so while I'm using integrated graphics will it work? Could you elaborate?

clear cmos/ reset bios first, then go to your bios settings, go to advanced tab>System Agent Configuration>Graphics Configuration>Primary Display.. change it to PCIe, keep in mind you will have to connect the monitor through the onboard VGA/DVI to change these settings

Sounds reasonable. I will try it now. Is it ok to install Windows beforehand ?

I have followed the steps and still the same effect. However I noticed that BIOS version have not downgraded after this reset, have I missed something or is it supposed to be like this?. Although other settings appeared to be default including date/time etc.

In the end decided to return this card completely and get a refund since it's a fresh purchase and I have a cooling off period. Support from VTX3D for an European market appears to be virtually non-existent... I never heard of the brand until seeing their card in my system.

I will go for something more refined. Gigabyte 7950 WF3 has a decent price however I'm a bit worried whether it will not fit into my Zalman Z9 case. XFX 7950 DD is even cheaper and will definitely fit but a Gigabyte one is certainly a very temping choice.

id stay away from XFX, their cards are riddled with problems, gigabyte should be better, but i would recommend Sapphire or ASUS, if the price isnt too high

So I chose Gigabyte HD 7950 Windforce and received it today :)

How should I install it? I mean uninstall Intel HD drivers first and then change Primary Display to PCIe ? And then obviously install the graphics card itself physically.

seat/install the GPU, then clear cmos/ reset bios first, then go to your bios settings, go to advanced tab>System Agent Configuration>Graphics Configuration>Primary Display.. change it to PCIe, save and restart
