Hey, I think this might be a lost cause, but I always have hope on Tom's hardware forums.
So I went out last night, and left the computer on. I played some games, SC2, Max Payne 3, with pretty high graphics and no problems. I come home at 3 am, and I see the case lights on, and the fans spinning. But the monitor displays a "Input not supported" message. I boot in safe mode, search for forum posts, and try to use those fixes. Changing resolutions, deleting drivers and reinstalling (reinstallation had a BEX error, which led me on a two hour solution for that), but even after reinstalling it gives me an "input not supported" when I boot windows normally. My monitor only works in safe mode and vga mode.
I did search and read several posts, but if anyone has more suggestions I would love to test them. At the moment I'm thinking my graphics card died, and I don't have another comp on which to test it.

System is
Motherboard MSI GFX790,
CPU AMD Phenom II X4 955,
8gb ram
HIS Radeon HD 6790 1gb
Monitor is a 22 inch AOC in case that helps.

Oh, about the title. In safemode I tried a system restore, and the last backup was for a critical win update, at 1 am of 5/16. And I figured there might be a relationship between the update and the monitor not reacting, cause at 8 pm 5/15 I was gaming, but several system restores later, and still no supported input.
