Current setup ...
1) I have router in one room and Sky+ box and television in another.
2) Sky on demand needs an internet connection, but Sky+ box is not wireless enabled.
3) 'Solution' (which I hate!) is to run ethernet cable between rooms.
What I would LIKE to do is the following ...
4) Replace the Sky router with one that has access point / repeater capability (and better speed and range).
5) I have a cheap wireless router that I'd like to give the Sky+ box network access.
6) I envisage this device sitting alongside the Sky+ box, connected to it via CABLE, and RECEIVING data from the main router (the purpose of this device is NOT to extend my wireless network).
Is what I'm describing possible?
Is what I'm describing using the second router as a repeater or access point, or what?
I've heard that repeaters 'halve network bandwidth'. Is this for BOTH routers, or ONLY for the 'slave'?
Thanks in anticipation of any responses ...
