BF3 stuck at initializing

Hello,
I know there are many threads made about this problem, but everyone seems to get it fixed except me.
I just built a new pc and have installed all drivers and stuff but when I start BF3 (from Origin / Battlelog ) it gets stuck at initializing or joining server. I've never had the chance to play it once. I've tried many 'solutions' but none of these seem to work.
Please help me out, thanks in advance!

My specs:
Intel i5 3570k
AMD HD 7970
8 GB DDR3 RAM
Z77 Extreme 4

First, there's probably no problem with your hardware whatsoever. The battlelog BF3 game launcher just sucks.

The more I play in a single sitting, the more I run into that issue. If I play two or three rounds, no problem. If I play for a few hours, I can expect to see something like this a few times. It has something to do with the poor quality of the browser-based launcher. I've been complaining about this since the beginning.

When you get stuck in initializing, you have to kill the BF3 process in task manager.

When it's been most extreme, I had to actually download the whole game and do a complete re-install.

First, make sure your punkbuster is up to date. Make sure you've updated your BF3 software through the Origin tool (right click on BF3 and check for updates).

Within the last six months, I haven't had to do anything as drastic as a re-install, but if I sit down to play this for a long time, I keep the task manager open and kill the BF3.exe process when it gets stuck since clicking the 'Close Game' button on the battlelog page does nothing to kill the process BF3.exe that begins when you try to join a game. If you do not kill this process, you cannot join another game.

Did you install from a disk by chance?

First off thanks for the fast reply :p,

I have installed the game digitally, so not by disk. I've already updated punkbuster correctly and I think I might have updated the game through Origin for about 5 times haha.

In the beginning when I had this problem, bf3.exe would appear in my task manager and kept staying there untill I deleted it (it was using very little RAM). But since I did a few fixes it won't appear in my task manager neither.

I really don't know what to do anymore (it seems like I've tried everything). Un-install the game, uninstall Origin, Battlelog Plugin, removing tm-logo. Is there a way I could get my money refunded? :p

So you're saying even when you re-install, it doesn't fix anything? That seems wrong. Did you also apply all of the junkie launcher updates that you have to install through the browser (and then close the browser and log out of origin and restart origing without being prompted or it won't work)?

I haven't had to do much else. I haven't had to do a full re-install in a year, but like I said if I play for a long enough period of time at a sitting, I can count on having to whip out the task manager.

It's too bad you can't get it running at all, though. That's just wrong. This really is the best game I've ever played, but they've smudged poo on it by making us use Origin and that darn browser launcher in order to play it.

In your case, it almost seems like a possible firewall setting? Can you add bf3.exe to your firewall's exception list and see if that helps?

Well, I just tried to launch BF3 again and guess what it just works fine now. I haven't changed anything or tried any possible solutions, so I really don't know what the problem was. I would like to thank you for your replies and help, I really appreciate it :)!

[SOLVED] Fix unknown :p

Glad you got it working.

Remember... Keep your task manager open so you can easily kill the process when the browser-based launcher won't and the game is stuck in one of many phases. The BF3 game launcher itself has put a black mark on what could easily be considered the best game ever made for PC.
