Okay,

So, My computer broke in the first week of the Easter holidays, It was the faulty motherboard, I got that replaced, and since then, it has been none stop problem!

Now, my I cant run games or watch Youtube videos without them lagging like hell!
Since the new motherboard was installed all of there problems have come about!
I got my computer back today, it was running really well for about an hour, running everything really well, playing Fifa13 no problem, watching youtube videos without lag, Until I installed Xfire and Skype, that I had on my computer before hand, before the faulty motherboard, (I forgot to say, that I have also Reinstalled Windows 7 and all the drivers are up to date) Since I've installed these programs it like it is back to step one, HE (The IT engineer) said, that my graphics card (EVGA GTX 660) wasnt communicating with the motherboard??

I am getting like 3Fps on fifa, and i was before getting like 120fps,

Also, could it be the motherboard that he fitted, it was a Gigabyte 970A-D3, but my motherboard before was a Gigabyte 970A-DS3.

Thanks Elliot :) Please Help

i would make sure that your video card is being used for the applications you are using. go into the nvidia control panel, go to manage 3d settings, and look for fifa13 and make sure it's using your 660gtx instead of your CPU.

oh i'm sorry, yeah in the middle it'll show a dropdown menu on what graphic hardware to use for the software. just make sure it's using your nvidia 660 instead of CPU. it should say "preferred." pick the 660gtx. then press apply. also, make sure your nvidia driver is up to date by right clicking on the green nvidia icon on your taskbar and "check for updates." do a custom install and click the box that says, "clean install."

if it was already using your video card let us know, so that we can help you troubleshoot the problem further.

ok, um, did you find it or is it literally just not there? sorry if i sound like a moron. i'm just making sure nvidia control panel knows to use your dedicated video card. having low frame rate probably means nvidia is using your integrated hardware instead. it can also mean tons of other things, but i just want to make sure you see that nvidia is in fact using your video card. try to make sure the global settings are set to use your 660gtx and be sure to press apply after making changes.

all right. well the next step i would do is just uninstall the 2 programs that you said you installed and afterward it started slowing the PC. restart the computer after uninstalling them, and if the PC runs faster, than there's your problem. if not, then at least you know it's not those two programs.

Hey, thank you very much for your help and your time, I found out what the problem was with my computer, it seems to be my Bulldozer 8 core that has failed, I installed my old Athlon II and it seems to be running very well, hopefully I will get a refund for the processor from ebuyer, but thanks for your help, I really appreciated it :)

Hello again, I think i've spoken too soon, since i've woken up and went on this computer, it seems the fps has dropped again? even though last night it was running really well!

Any ideas why this would of started happening again?
