So i had recently upgraded my grapics card from onboard to a 1g Nvidia GEForce GTX 550m, upgraded the power supply to 550 watts and bought an HDMI cord to get me the bect video quality from my HP flatscreen monitor

That's all fine and dandy, and it works like a dream, but whenever i power off the monitor, computer, or if it goes to sceen saver, it gives a black screen with "Check video cable" i have t manually go in and set it to HDMI for it to show screen.

but thats not all. I know how to set the default settings on my monitor to HDMI, and i have had it set to Auto switch source, so it would be set to HDMI when i power it on, but to no avail, i have to either keep it defaulted to VGA OR manually swap to vga and back to HDMI for it to take the input and display it.

I know for sure my RAM is seated properly, and so is my video card, as well as my power supply hooked up correctly, when i installed it all, i even hit it with some canned air.

So, its a minor nuisance at worst, but can you all think of a way to fix it?
