I recently purchased a Radeon HD 7750 Core Edition and don't know what could be the problem. Would this be a hardware installation problem or a software related issue? One thing I will say, the instruction manual hinted at connecting the PSU directly to the GPU...however, I couldn't find any slot on the GPU to connect too. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

The 7750 takes power only from the PCIe slot, it doesn't require external power. If it works in games then all is well, if you are just sitting at the desktop then theres no reason for usage to be above 0%.

Is there a way to monitor this while in game? For instance, if I am running a browser based games like Battlestar Galactica Online or even Hawken?

Download MSI afterburner. Run it in the background and it logs temps, volts, memory usage, core usage, fan rpm etc...

If your usage was 0% you'd know about it. Its 1/100th of the cards potential if you think about it. But yes, use MSI Afterburner.

I have Hawken running in the background and the activity is still 0% and while I am running the program it lags insanely at the main menu...any other suggestions?

Is your monitor cable attached to the video card or motherboard?

Both. I tried just plugging it into just the graphics card and it read the display as hooked up to another monitor even though I don't have another display hooked up. When this happens I am unable to view any program I open because it exists on a monitor that isn't hooked up. Wish there was an easier way to explain this.

If the programs you are using are not very GPU heavy, then it will show 0%
Try Unigine Heaven.

If Hawken isn't GPU heavy, why is the main menu lagging like a jeep in quicksand?

And the monitor has to be plugged into the GPU to use its acceleration.

It is plugged into the GPU and I have the display set to display 2: Dell S2340(Digital). This is the monitor that is hooked directly to the graphics card. Under multiple displays I have it set to show desktop only on 2. Btw. I appreciate everyone's patience. I feel like the answer is near.

Boom. Figured out the issue. I had to shutdown the computer before disconnecting the monitor from the motherboard. That was a humbling experience. Thanks for leading me to the correct answer everyone.
