k bro. they don't call it a central processing unit for nothin. it's obviously the most important part of the pc. therefore the pc is only as good as the cpu. so there is an heirarchy. if you're talking about price, then yeah there's balance involved. but a cpu has the last say in everything.
this isn't an opinion. it's literally how computer architecture works.
too many forums with "low framerate! i don't get it! i have a gtx titan!!!1" yeah well maybe it's because your cpu's retarded. builders who never grew up with computers in the 80s think since VIDEO games are VIDEO, the VIDEO cards must control how awesome the VIDEO games are. i'm not saying this is you, nor would i ever put down anyone on tom's because we're all inherently awesome just being registered here. but i just want to make sure the OP realizes how important a CPU is compared to a video card.
um dude, that's why I said balance is key...
say you have $600 bucks for a budget gaming rig, no, you don't spend most of it on a 680 or even a 670... but neither do you blow $300+ on a 3770K either, you get something like an i3 or a FX6300, look at what you have left over, and probably get a 7790 or something. you won't be maxing out anything, but you'll have a better experience than a 680 with a core duo, or a 640 with an i7 3770k...
Yes, I understand that the CPU is central in computer architecture and it's where everything come from, I'm just telling you, a king with no subjects, or idiot subjects, doesn't get much done either...
