Connecting to Second Network causes internet to not work

I have a Dell Inspiron laptop. I was (am) using a home wireless network that has been up and running for a long time without issue(Hereafter called WIRELESS network). I have a couple computers I would like to network to the laptop through a router (Tenda W268R--Although the connection is through an Ethernet cable; I'm using the router just as a LAN connection, wireless is disabled on this router--Hereafter referred to as WIRED network) and not have internet connectivity for the Wired network .

I prepared the Wired network physically and setup was accepted and recognized on both computers. However, when I plug the Ethernet cord into the laptop I lose internet use. Both of the network connections show up as viable and connected still and mapping out the connections show that the wireless network is connected to the router and then to the internet. When I remove the cable instantly internet is able to be used again. At no time do I lose connectivity, pages just refuse to load.

In order to have the internet work while connected to both networks (wired, wireless) I have tried/checked the following:

1) Firmware/drivers all are working
2) Removed every device but laptop from wired network.
3) I checked the order of network access and the wireless is listed first.
4) I checked router settings (IP addresses, gateways, etc...are all different; sn masks are the same but, that is okay, right?) and there are no conflictions (Both networks are set for Dynamic addresses)
5) Wired Router-wise: both computers have connectivity to each other and the router.
6) I thought perhaps (somehow) wireless signals were causing interference so I shutdown the Wired router's wireless system.

There are probably a few more things I have tried that I just can't remember. I'm stumped...
I'm quite more advanced than the average user (in both hardware and software) but, I can't quite figure this one out.

Oh, specwise:
Win 7
6 gb ram
i3
500 gb hd

Thanks in advance!!!!

I changed the settings to static through the Lan properties but did not include a gateway. With doing that I can now access both the internet and the router (Yay) but, am not able to connect to the other computer on the Wired router (network is set to Public and I am unable to change it).
