So it would do the little effects with flags and drapes and rocks, explosions PhysXy stuff? Why not recommended? If both cards were closely match would it be better?

Yea but you can't do it "officially" or "legitimately". It usually involves a lot of tweaking and stuff to get the two cards working. I would say get an Nvidia GPU in the first place or sell the AMD card if you have it and buy an Nvidia one if you are really desperate to get PhysX going.

You used to be able to. I heard the hack they used to allow this got closed recently. Now we are back to where Nvidia says no way. Unless you can use the older drivers.

Ah I was just wondering. I was wishing these $300 Nvidia cards weren't 192bit.
Is the 760 going to be higher than 192bit?

PhysX is in no way limited to only Nvidia cards, but only Nvidia have the hardware built in to handle the calculations for it. If no PhysX compliant hardware is detected, the load will be passed on to the CPU. Advanced PhysX, on the other hand is exclusive to Nvidia and cannot be used with AMD cards without massive lag, as it is highly unoptimized for CPUs.

Borderlands 2 is a little bit different in that it doesn't really use advanced PhysX at all but rather allows you to set the level of PhysX effects between Low, Medium and High. Obviously it will run better on an Nvidia system, but a beefy CPU can also handle Borderlands 2 PhysX at the Medium setting.

^ That pretty much sums it up. Borderlands 2 uses a difference PhysX approach. On a 3570k you may be able to get PhysX on low and if you're lucky medium with playable frame rates.
