So I'm building a new pc for heavy gaming and editing. (video rendering w/ SV Pro 11, Adobe After effects, Cinema4d)
The opportunity has come around to be able to get a 3930K and a Rampage IV Extreme for the same price as the new 4770K and a high end Z87 board.

Which should I get? the 3930K and an out-dated motherboard (Rampage IV...)
Or the i7 4770K and a Maximus VI Extreme / Gigabbyte G1 Sniper 5 Z87?

More about : haswell sandy bridge

If heavy gaming and some editing, get the i7 haswell or if heavy gaming and editing get i7 3930K or if you can wait Ivy Bridge-E.
The 3930K will beat the i7 haswells in multi threaded applications buy a lot.

Thanks! I'll probably go for the Haswell 4770K. Slightly cheaper overall and also means a nice new Z87 motherboard with 10 Sata III 6gb/s ports! :o
