Radeon HD 7970 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 550 Watt power supply unit.
Radeon HD 7970 Crossfire - On your average system the cards require you to have a 750 Watt power supply unit as minimum.

If you are going to run two 7970's in CF plus overclock GPU or processor, then i do recommend you purchase something with some more stamina.

Thermaltake has a PSU Calculator here:
http://www.thermaltake.outervision.com/

You can use it to determine exactly how big your PSU needs to be, and then buy whatever brand you want. My favorite is Corsair (although I currently use a Thermaltake PSU).
