i have installed vga Nvidia 8500GT 256 mb and i decided to upgrade my vga to GTX 560 and RAM still not decided

is it possible for me to upgrade my vga & memory without upgrading my processor?

or is there any other alternative i could use for vga and RAM

It is possible, but the processor will bottleneck any upgrade you do. And if you want to upgrade your processor you need a new motherboard as well.

I would start with more RAM, and the video card, and then the rest as money comes (depending on your budget).

What exactly are you hoping to get to play? Your current setup is pretty out dated and with a processor running with such a low speed I strongly doubt you will be playing any of the games you were hoping for. You will definitely have to overclock your processor if you get a GPU first.

yeah true..my pc was really outdated since i was really busy finishing my college..i was hoping to at least play skyrim and crysis 2 in decent performance..& my motherboard is Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2C..

is it possible to upgrade my processor to at least core i5 or i7 without changing the motherboard??? my friends told me that the recent type of Motherboard require a bigger casing box..is that true?

& maybe if u could tell me what kind of motherboard, processor, RAM type that i could use for that specs? (my budget around $500-600. thanks before

Your motherboard can support any 775 CPU (you may need a BIOS update) but only 4GB of RAM, so its certainly possible to upgrade to a better CPU and thus GPU, but you will be beating a dead horse and will have to rebuild in a year or so anyway.
You also asked if you could upgrade to i5 or i7, your motherboard won't support those processors, you're HDD won't need upgrading unless you are building a new rig, if you do then its always nicer to have a bigger HDD

yeah i was really stupid thinking my motherboard could support i5 or i7 :( and still to early to achieve skyrim standard. maybe i should rebuild it from scratch...

Can I get some help with $600-700 built? (this is my first build)

i don't really trust people in the market coz they sometimes sell unnecessary parts...
& i think i don't mind using AMD & core i3 build...

or can anyone tell any book/website that provide any information for good PC game build??

thanks for the help :)

thanks a lot for the link :)

maybe i could start building my own.. my case build
width:7,1 inch
depth: 17,2 inch
height : 16 inch
is that sufficient enough for new motherboard, vga etc?

my dvd drive : Samsung TSST corp CDDVDW SH-S202J (do this need to be replaced?)
my power supply : SZ-380WP4 (380 Watt) (any suggestion?)

The case should be large enough, it's only a little smaller than mine but if you know the make and model we can be sure all the bits will fit.
There may be a problem with reusing the DVD, it uses a old connector called IDE and not all current motherboards still carry this connector.
Power: Aim for 500Watts from a good maker: Antec, Corsair, Pc Power and Cooling, XFX, Silverstone, OCZ or Seasonic. Less will restrict any upgrades later and 500Watts will power just about any card the i5 in Toms article can support (OK, you can go up, but only if it's a good deal ;) ).

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817256061

Read the specs and you'll see 1x6 pin and 1x6+2 pin PCI-E, these will feed the graphics card with power, some will have 1x6 and 1x8 pin, this is less desirable because it is less flexible.
Now, our work here is done.
I suggest you have a good read in the Systems Forum-you have much to learn Padawan, ask the Masters there. Answers you will get...hmmmm?
