I was planning to upgrade my computer but chose to build a new one.
I have decided that It will have watercooling for CPU and Graphics card.

my build:
build1_zps7a2939e2.png

build2_zps50b7e03c.png

Other info:

  • Distilled Water for cooling fluid
Most of Parts are from XSPC
    Taken from pccasegear.com

Are any of the parts overkill?
Any part incompatibility?
And yes, I had looked at the water-cooling thread
Any other opinion?

Unless you have Audiophile speakers(and ears!) the soundcard is overkill. I don't think you will be able to hear a difference between it and the built-in sound of the motherboard. keyword is "hear" save the $109. I don't see a monitor, or an optical disk of any kind...

What is your goal for watercooling? Are you going for high overclocks or just a quiet PC? I wouldn't go water just for looks, and have to deal with possible leaks.

At any rate, Good Luck!

the water block for the gpu will not fit. the FTW card is a full size card and the block you picked is for the smaller 670/660 cards. take a look on ek's webpage and see what block will fit your card. http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/step1_complist The 670 FTW is really the same as a 680 they share the same pcb board.

Also not sure what your doing with your computer but if its only for gaming you dont need 16gb of ram 8 will do just fine.

Alright, I made some changes to the build:

GPU:
GPU Waterblock: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=207_160_878_880&products_id=20594

Backplate: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=20595

Sound Card: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=21183

And also:

aatje92: Can't afford an SSD and I can wait 5 seconds for bootup unless my HDD is broke for some reason

clarkjd: I got a $35 AUD SOundcard instead then and I'm planning overclocking

faalin: I got a new cheaper than NVIDIA but still do gaming AMD RadeonHD 7970 and I think I got a backplate that might fit. And please do not link me to non-australian suppliers as I just want to buy from atleast 2 australian sources only

But what about monitor and DVD drive(s)?
