Eyefinity Triple Monitor Setup problems.

I've recently bought a third monitor for my setup. All three are identical and use HDMI inputs. The problem is, no matter how they're connected, neither windows nor CCC will allow me to use all three at once. I get the message 'To extend the desktop, a desktop or display must be disabled'. Originally I was using two of them on DVI connections, then I was told that this wouldn't work and after examining the instructions I found one of them needed to be connected to the DisplayPort connector. So I bought a DisplayPort->HDMI cable, and this doesn't work either. I can use ANY 2 monitors at once but not all three.. What am I doing wrong?

I have 3 LG IPS-237L monitors and a AMD HD7950.. I've tried reinstalling drivers.

Solution
It could be that you did not purchase an "Active" displayport adapter, which is a requirement for such setups. I'm using 1 HDMI, 1 DVI, and 1 DVI *with* the active adapter with success.

I'm sorry you are having issues--I hope that this resolves your problem.

To my knowledge, no displayport to hdmi active adapter exists, though I could be wrong. You would need a DP -> DVI

In theory you could/would have all 3 hooked up via DVI, only one of them from your displayport through the active adapter and into the DVI on your monitor.

I've ordered an active Display port to HDMI adapter.. Managed to find one on amazon with decent reviews. Hopefully it'll work - seem to have spent a day's wages on cables and adapters!

I'm sorry! I know it can be frustrating when your tech doesn't work the way you want it to =]

That is what return policies are for.

Best of luck to you in your eyefinity adventures! Be sure to check out http://www.wsgf.org/ when you get it up and running for compatibility patches, useful info on configuration, and more.

Apparently its come in the post - we'll have to cross fingers for when I get home from work! I bought these monitors not thinking about their inputs because they had pretty thin bezels. If everything used display port, the world would be a better place.

What monitors do you have for your setup, I was thinking I would get LG IPS237L's if you could take a picture and upload it somewhere I would gladly appreciate it. I can't really find any pictures of eyefinity or Nvidia surround setups for this monitor. Linking one if you find one would be great as well. :)
