It comes down to a lot more than just brand, but what kind of features you are looking for. Along with support. Personally I prefer HP systems and servers. I have never had a problem with any HP server we have purchased, and they have a huge range of products to fit your needs or budgets.

The only thing that bothers me with HP is they are outsourcing to 3rd parties for Small Business Servers. I would have liked to deal with them directly. What kind of information would be useful in determining which brand I should go with ?

I'm a little confused what you mean by outsourcing to 3rd parties for small business servers. They have many methods of purchase for their servers, including registered resale partners like myself. You can also contact HP directly and get suggestions on servers to meet your needs, but often times a good partner reseller is going to give you a much better idea of what you need and probably better pricing because of promotional or special pricing offers.

Determining what brand to choose is hard. A lot of it comes down to personal preference really. What other brands or equipment do you have in your environment? What kind of support levels can you get in your area for different brands? Do you have local service or sales for one or another brand?
