So I got an XFX Radeon 7970. I loved it, worked fine... then I started getting artifacts so I RMA'd it. I got it back with less then what i sent in (no install instructions). Anyway I hooked it up to my motherboard where I had it before. There are 2 plugins, an 8pin and a 6 pin. I use 1 6pin and a 2pin for the 8 pin connection slot and a 6 pin for the 6pin slot. My screen is black when I bootup.. Doesnt matter if I try booting up via connection to my onboard or my GPU. If I don't have it fully hooked up I can boot to my onboard. IDK how to install this thing and honestly I'm so frustrated with it all I could throw it through my window.
Anyone know whats going on??
Again, I took the card out of the box, hooked it up (correctly) and the computer will boot black with no response on the monitor until I take the power supply cables out of the GPU, and hook my monitor back up to my onboard graphics.
I have a driver disc, but it refers me to the webpage because it doesn't detect my graphics card (because my screen runs black anytime its detectable), and the webpage is a damn mess that I can't find anything on.
