Hello, i need a hand as i have recently inherited an old Panasonic 5.1 surround sound system, so im trying to hook it up to my pc, im using a 3.5mm headphone cable which then splits into 2 cables, a left and a right, i plugged them into my sound systems left and right port and got sound from my left and right, i have seen on the back of my machine i have more 3.5mm jacks for center and sub, and rear left and rear right, so i have purchased more cables and connected them to the corresponding sockets. Now here is where im driven to despair, as no sound is coming from any of them at all, only my front left and right are working, when i run the test feature on the surround sound itself it plays our of all speakers one after another so i know they all work. So why won't they play sound? i have scoured the net and all of my limited technical knowledge and am at a complete loss so any kind of help anyone can supply will be much appreciated.

"AMD High Definition Audio Device Driver" is the sound card im using and have the latest catalyst software on my machine that re directs me back to my window audio device control window.

1, that is the option for HDMI stream, try to use speakers...
2, you can reinstall the drivers for your audio (you are probably using realtek onboard audio)...
3, then somewhere in the speakers audio control panel should be an option to switch the sound system from 2.1 to 5.1...

PS> also you may have to turn on bass redirection, or you won't hear the woofer :D
