Hi guys,

I recently upgraded my computer (last night), before we get started here are the components I installed.

ASUS p8z77-v lk motherboard
Intel i5-3570k processor
SAMSUNG 840 Series MZ-7TD120BW 2.5" 120GB SATA III SSD
Corsair XMS 8GB 240 pin DDR3 160
ENERMAX Noisetaker EG701AX-VE 600W Power Supply

Now, the power supply is admittadly old, and it's where I'm leaning towards as far as diagnosing the problem.

After follwing all the instructions meticulously, I powered on the computer. The fans power on, and the case LED's do as well. The green power light on the motherboard is on, and when I first boot up the MemOK LED flashes red once and then no longer lights up. All of the USB ports have been tested and have power.

The issue is that I am not getting any image on my monitor. At first I assumed a bad port, but after trying VGA, DVI and HDMI I can only assume something is wrong with the board. Either the PSU is not giving it enough power, or I hooked something up wrong, or I just have a defective mobo. Any help you guys could give on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Yessir, I made sure those were properly connected first. From what I've read if the 8 pin one is not connected I'll have the exact issue I'm having now. I'm going to unplug everything from the board (graphics card, HDD, etc) including all power wires that aren't absolutely necessary and try to POST from there when I get home. I'll even disconnect the power wires and replug them in, maybe there's a loose connection somewhere.

Check The mb bios rev sticker. It on the end of the mb part number label.
You may have got an old mb. Asus mb set to post from the Ipgpu when new. Try no video card and one dimm. If your mb has the USB flashback port. Flash the bios to the newest rev.

I am assuming that after the memok flashes red the computer is still on but there isn't any post coming up on your monitor, are you posting inside your computer case or outside the case?
