Here is my build, runs great right now I just want more power for gaming like Crysis 3.

THis is my current build:

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor

Motherboard: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard

Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Video Card: PowerColor Radeon HD 7850 2GB Video Card

Case: Cooler Master Elite 430 - Mid Tower Computer Case with All-Black Interior (RC-430-KWN1)

Power Supply: Corsair Builder 600W 80 PLUS Certified ATX12V Power Supply

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)

Optical Drive: Lite-On Super AllWrite 24X SATA DVD+/-RW Dual Layer Drive - Bulk - IHAS124-04 Version C (Black)

If I get another of the same GPU and run it with crossfire will I be able to play Crysis 3 on ultra? Is my PSU to low watt to run an additional GPU? My Motherboard and GPU did not come with a crossfire link, where can I get one that will work for my GPUs? Any advice or suggestions for a first time adding an additional GPU? It would of course be the same GPU being added to the system. I just want to buff up my gaming experience more.

Will adding a 2nd GPU even boost my gaming but a large amount? I am sure it will be better, but worth the money to invest in another GPU?

Is there anything a noob should be aware of before adding a second GPU to their build? Any help is appreciated!

The 7850 is generally OK to crossfire if you already have one. It's not a terribly power-hungry card and needs just a single 6-pin connector and you should be fine with at 600W. It'll get you in the general neighborhood of the better single GPUs, but there will be some additional issues - games don't always play as nicely and there are likely to be games here and there that are less cooperative. You''re also going to sacrifice a little more FPS - your motherboard goes to x16 and x4, if I'm not mistaken, and while it's not the end of the world, it's also less optimal.

Crysis 3 is a mean game though - you're not going to get high framerates at ultra. Even Titans and high-end crossfires have a fight on their hands. http://media.bestofmicro.com/G/8/375128/original/1920-V...

As for the crossfire bridge, if it doesn't come with your card, you can get them online for under $10.

Maybe this video will help you decide.. It appears 2 7850 will give you better perfromance than a 6990...

not easy to find benchmarks on 7850 crossfire but this is a video from youtube showing results http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BeKb9M5zV0
