Asus Crosshair V Booting issues

Hello,

Today I booted up my desktop and was using it fine for about 20-25 minutes and suddenly my desktop abruptly shut off. (No BSOD or anything)

I built this desktop almost 2 years ago with a LC'd loop running through my two GTX580s and my AMD FX-8150 CPU.

My CPU had also been overclocked to around 4.6GHz (It's been working perfectly stable, even after all the stress tests I've put it under in the past).

After the first time it shut off, whenever I turn it back on it would turn off again within 10~30 seconds. The CPU LED would flash up (on the motherboard) then the other LED's and whenever the CPU LED would light up the second time the entire system abruptly shuts off.

I'm having a feeling that my CPU may have been fried or something, what measures can I take to locate the issue, and what could I try for a solution?

I'm also waiting on my friend to bring in a USB to USB cable to see if I can get Rog connect to work somehow (I've never used it before so I'm not sure if that would get me anywhere)

Here what happens when I boot:
1. Push the power button
2. Fans start up (They run at low RPM initially but eventually get faster about 10-15 seconds later)
3. CPU Indicator lights up then indicator turns off (flashes a few more times, and I can hear the HDD making noises too)
4. DRAM_LED turns on then indicator turns off
5. Fans get faster @ normal speeds
6. 5 seconds or so pause
7. CPU Indicator lights up and within a second the PC abruptly shuts off

I can sometimes see the Red ASUS logo but usually it just abruptly shuts down there.
Rarely it can go to the part where it says "Overclock failed". Let me see if I can get a picture of it before it shuts down.

OK I got Rog Connect to work and was using RC Poster on my laptop to see what happened and where it crashed. It seems it crashes on a different POST message every time. I'm still unsure of what the cause may be, but the LED indicator makes me think that it could be the CPU. I have an 1100T Phenom that I can try downstairs, but I want professional opinions on what could be the issue.

Sometimes it just shuts down seconds after I push the power button (at the CPU led)

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I found out it was the CPU. I changed it with my 1100T that I had on my other desktop and booted perfectly fine.

Looks like I gotta get a FX-8350 now... Won't make the mistake of OCing again :(

I'm getting some heating issues with 1100T I've reapplied the thermal paste using the pea method, and have done this three times but to no avail.

On my first attempt I cleaned both the HS and the CPU and applied a pea sized. Extreme temps (above 60C) while it boots.

I let it cool for 30 mins

Second attempt, cleaned everything once again, and re-applied the same amount onto the CPU again, same issue as above ^

Third attempt, used a little less thermal paste this time and had the same issue, overheats.

I've noticed some scratches on the Heat Sink (I think they were there before too?) Not sure if that could be the cause.

Also, I never had this cooling problem when my FX-8150 was fully working.
