Does the Extreme Power 2 625w would handle an XFX HD 7970?

Ok so i made the mistake on getting this PSU i already know that is not a good PSU
And i was thinking to replace it with an Silent Pro 1000w which i think is the best that Cooler Master has to offer.

The thing is that i already have all set up... just missing the PSU

Heres my Build :

Case: Pixxo Eagle Warrior 6x
SSD: Adata SX900 128gb
HD: Seagate 2TB 7.000RPM Sata 3
MB: Crosshair V Formula Z
CPU: FX8350
RAM: 16b ram/ 2 Sticks 8gb each 1600mhz Corsair Black LP
and finally 1 DvD Writer

I wanna run at stock frequencies, so im not gonna OC atm until i get another psu and new aftermarket heatsink, so should i just install that Extreme 2 PSU? or maybe get something else ... i would try it out but honestly i dont wanna risk .

Thanks

sigh... my attention span is really short as you can see lol.

Like i said in the above post, i usually check reviews and compare their test set-up and the actual build. (ya... i know the motherboard might have upwards of 10-20w difference in power draw... and peripheral differences....)

http://www.hardocp.com/article/2012/10/30/xfx_double_d_hd_7970_ghz_edition_video_card_review/10#.UZb5J8rTBcg

They used a 7970 ghz edition (higher power draw than a regular) and the entire system (they used a oced 2600k) came out to be 366W power draw max...
With companies like Seasonic, Delta, FSP, Enermax/LEPA, and Super Flower making PSUs, there is no excuse to buy a CM PSU. Most are near-junk. Few are as dangerous as a Logisys or Diablotek, but they're still mostly not fit for purpose.

I wouldn't lump ALL of Coolermaster's stuff in with near junk. a lot of their PSUs are literally rebranded stuff from FSP and Enhance.

And which silent pro 1000w are you getting? they got 3 different models....

These two are built by enhance and are pretty reliable:

GS 800 is more reliable than the CM silent pro.

And I usually consult these two lists when people ask about PSUs.

http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/323050.aspx
Pretty much tier rank by brand names and series.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/power-supply-oem-manufacturer,2913.html
and pretty much lists the actual OEM before rebranding.

Oh thats pretty interesting , Thanks , i belive i saw that list before but i though it was outdated and didnt pay the attention i should.
The GS800 seems to be the way to go , is in 2nd tier now idk if it changes in efficiency between the v1 and the v2 since the v2 seems to be manufactured by seasonic i belive? and it doesnt appear there :3
All i want is something that will let me upgrade in the future and wont fail on me easily

the power supply recomended by asus http://support.asus.com/powersupply.aspx
Tell me that i need a 800w psu

Your parts list doesn't show a GPU. If that's right, then you shouldn't need anywhere near 800w.... even a good quality 350w psu would be able to power your system.

And I hate pretty much all the power estimators.... most of the time they're either bullshit or comes out around 10-15% above what you actually need......

Pretty much for any set-up, I would look up the review (with the GPU that you're using) and compare their systems power draw and yours.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/5314/xfxs-radeon-hd-7970-black-edition-double-dissipation-the-first-semicustom-7970/2
they used a 7970 black edition (just a oced xfx 7970) and a oced i7 3960x and it maxed out at 391W...

Pretty much I conclude that yours should never go over 400w of demand (especially since your CPU uses less power than both the process they used lol.....)

And so basically i would recommend
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151096

or this one.

Thanks that was helpful :) i already sold the Extreme 2 625w today, just lost a couple of dolars .. and this monday im gonna order the TX850 even tho that could be just too much for my system . I prefer to have some "extra power" there if i need it in the future xD
