Hi,

I know laptops and desktops have them. If tablets and smartphones are basically computers also, do they have such batteries / circuits in them too?

I looked at alot of tear down reports and did not find them, but wasn't sure if that's because they just don't report such components.

thanks,
Yoshi

Since they don't run on magic, yes, tablets and smartphones have batteries and circuits.

In most phones and tablets, everything runs off the main (and usually only) battery.

And yes, they have a RTC - you can turn them off (completely off, not just standby), turn them on somewhere where there is no WiFi/cell and they will still have relatively accurate time.
