Creating a Custom Reservoir

So I want to make a custom Reservoir. I'm very hesitant since if i mess up my system is screwed. but I'm going to do it anyway. I was wondering if anyone out there has done anything similar, has any suggestions on materials to use, or any other ideas.

What is your purpose to create a custom reservoir?

I've created one myself and you can see the details of it's construction in this thread scroll down to Fabricated Reservoir.

My reservoir creating was because I needed more volume than even the largest reservoir would hold and I also needed to insulate it.

The same volume can be fabricated out of the Black ABC type of PVC pipe, which would have matched my black case better but sealed up inside, it doesn't even matter, it serves it's intended purpose and that's all that matters to me.
