Recently(well the past few months) i have had issues with my desktop(built about a year ago now) with freezing while playing many games. I have re-Installed the OS(on to a Intel 320 SSD, S.M.A.R.T reports great). Other HD has been defragged, no help. When it freezes, my monitor stays on the frame it was displaying, and the Hard Drive light is on solid. Reset button does not work, forcing me to hold the power button. Specs are below, im thinking its the PSU, though im not sure.

PSU: OCZ 600W, plugged in to a cyber power 1350AVR UPS(810 watts).
Mobo: Asus P8Z77-V LK
CPU: Intel I5 - 3570K(with a Coolermaster? 612PWM. MX4 thermal paste)
Ram: 16GB Corsair XMS3 1600Mhz(XMP mode active)
GPU: Gigabyte GTX660TI Windforce(OC version)
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit
SSD: Intel 330 Series 120GB(Boot drive)
HD: Seagate 7200RPM 1TB

It freezes on any game(Metro Last light, Tomb Raider(new), Minecraft even). Its really weird.

In the BIOS, have you changed the mode to "Performance mode"? If so, bring it back to normal.

This can also be an issue with you HDD. Use HDTune and do a error scan. Do the full scan and not a quick scan. It will take a while.
