Good evening people!

I would like to know if my current hardware is good enough to be future-proof and will last a long time for playing the latest games. Or if you have suggestions on upgrading. Also I would like to stay away from Intel because of my low budget. I don't want to spend a ton of money and I prefer not to OC. If anyone could help me out that would be great. Thanks.

My system:

CPU: FX-4300
CARD: XFX 7870 DD
MOBO: Asrock 970 Extreme3
RAM: 4GB 1600
DRIVE: 2TB Caviar Black
PSU: NZXT Hale90 750W
CASE: Corsair 600t

CPU OC = easy 20%+ increase in performance

GPU OC = easy 10%+ increase in performance

so basically anywhere from 6 months to a year before they get outdated.

What is the total budget which includes the funds for the motherboard, ram, and other components? Also, what parts do you already have that you plan on reusing?

kay so whats a good cooler under 50?

Extend the life NO.
Extend the usability YES.
My lowly 960t unlocked and overclocked means that it will still be viable for a couple more years. Going from 4 cores@3.0 to 6 cores@3.5 makes a HUGE difference. Cost was a $30 cooler.

You could buy the 4100cpu with 8mb cache and a Hyper 212 cooler for the same price as the 4300 with 4mb cache and overclock it past the 4300 performance and the cooler will be much quieter.

And the GPU it depends on the 3rd party cooler already on the GPU that you get,

Well... the lifespan of a processor is way shorter than the usability of a processor... it's not like a cpu or gpu will die in 5 years even if heavily overclocked lol...

under 1000 I guess. I want to reuse all components except for the cpu cooler. I think I will OC my current hardware just to save money.
