Okay I have just finished building my new PC and it has these specs...

Intel i5 3570k
Asus P8-H77-I Mini Mobo
Gigabyte Radeon HD 7850
Corsair 600w CX600 PSU
Bitfenix Prodigy Case
2x4 8gb of Corsair Vengeance ram

So that is what I have. I put it all together had everything all plugged in right, turned it on, and EVERYTHING i have plugs in runs in my eyes (im a newbie) my gpu fans spin, my case fans spin, a light on my mobo lights up, the led's on my case's buttons light up, and yeah thats about all i can say... i have an hdmi cable running from my GPU to my monitor and whenever i unplug the monitor it says "hdmi cable not found" and when i plug it in it says "monitor is going into sleep mode" then sits on a black screen while the computer runs...

this is my first gaming computer pc i have ever built and i was really excited to get it running tonight but of course with my luck that did not happen... i would love it so much if you could help me get it going tomorrow. thanks.

Listen man, I had the EXACT SAME problem you had. I tried everything I could possible think of. I eventually replaced every single part other than the RAM and the PSU without luck. It turns out that the CMOS needed to be cleared because the fools at the factory left the old hardware CMOS settings. Have you tried resetting your motherboard's CMOS?

I could be wrong but Im only answering cause no one else has yet.
I think you have to plug into your motherboard video slot first, then install the 7850 then I think you shut it down and plug hdmi into video card.

edit: damn you people are fast haha

it would be nice to try and reset my cmos if i could grab the damn thing and lift it up and move it but its jammed in between my ram slots. aghh. and when i tried booting from my internal gpu it did the same exact thing.

What happens exactly? Is there absolutely nothing on screen? If so, my problem could easily be the same one you're having. Try and find a way to clear it. Ask for some pliers and be careful not to get shocked..

Yes I am trying to lift the little plastic piece off of (what my mobo's manual says are) pins 1 and 2 and trying to move it to (what my mobo's manual also says are) pins 2 and 3.

PS: the little plastice piece as in the jumper of course
