Hello,
A friend asked me to look at there old computer. He tried to clean it and tried to remove the cpu heatsink. The computer is old, it is a AMD Athlon 64 single core processer. When he removed the heatsink it pulled the cpu out of the socket. Now when you turn the computer on you get nothing to the monitor, the power light on the front of the case turns on(yellow) , and there are no noised and or beeps. All fans start up and you can here the hard drive start up but that is the limit of it. Should I be looking at just the cpu or do you all think the motherboard is damaged also?
Let me know if there is a way to test this easily, I cannot find a replacement motherboard online for this and was hoping to fix the cheep for my friend.
Let me know and thanks in advance,
