Random system crashes

Hello! Quick question (kinda): I have been having random system crashes occurring recently on my newly built PC. Sometimes I will get a blue screen, other times my screen will just freeze and I have to restart my PC. My first guess was the RAM. If anyone can shed any light on the situation or point me in the way of some kind of utility software, that would be much appreciated.

I have not tried to OC the memory whatsoever, all I have done is change the frequency to 1866 (the native frequency of the RAM) from 1333 (what my AsRock Extreme3 mobo recognized it as at first). I have also changed the slot for the memory because the mobo guide pointed out different slots were preferred for different RAM frequencies.

Furthermore, I did attempt to OC my CPU just by taking the multi up by .5, but reverted back to stock almost immediately. I apologize for the lengthy post, but I would really like to figure out the issue and find a fix for it, so I supplied all info I could think of.

The RAM in question: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231527

Its running in a PC w/ an AMD FX-8350 & AsRock Extreme3 mobo.

Any help is much appreciated.

EDIT: I did not have issues with the memory for a while after putting together the PC. This issue is recent and I would say it happened AFTER I OC'ed my CPU and changed my RAM timings and the physical slot on the mobo the memory was in.

set teh ram to default timings and speed ( with proper voltage ) actually reset entire machine to stock and see if it still happenes.. then go here: http://www.memtest.org/ burn to a cd and boot to it. and let it run for 2-3 hours.. you can stop if you get errors ( at which point you would have determined that the memory has errors and needs to be replaced )

hmm perhaps you didnt set your cpu/ram to the correct settings after you tried overclocking. Download cpu-z and when your pc freezes make a note on what percent cpu usage your computer is using, thats always a good place to start
