Can Xbox360 be connected to a 144hz monitor and run off of it?

I was thinking about buying a gaming monitor ( ASUS VG248QE ) to help with my gaming but im not sure if the xbox will be able to do what the monitor will be able to do. Pretty much what im asking is is their anyway under the settings or downloads or anything of that nature that i can make it so while im playing on my Xbox it will be running at 144Hz? If so please let me know how. I have gone through everything and i cant seem to find a way to do it. Even if it cant do the full 144 just pump it up a little bit.

ya you can. just hook it up through the HDMI cable.

The game will only run at whatever frames it can handle though. (mostly 30 fps) the screen will probably still run in 144hz but just display the same image multiple times while the next frame is being rendered in the xbox.

the screen won't make it seem smoother or anything.

Well one follow up question.

I was going though the system information on the monitor and it says only 60hz? I'm not sure if that means its only using 60hz or what exactly its saying.

Hzs have nothing to do with power...

And for OP
Xbox will run 30fps on any monitor you put thats at least 30Hz (basicly everything). 144 monitor only helps at high end computers.
