higher end gpu for 1366x768 would it last longer?

if I were to purchase a card in the x900 line rather than the x800 line
I KNOW IT WOULD BE OVERKILL
but would it allow me to play games at max settings longer?

or is it pointless because it would be optimized for higher resolution.

I'm planning on using my hdtv which was a new purchase. I'm in the process of getting all the components now and a new tv/moniter really isn't in the budget.

its 32inches and besides, maybe I was misinformed, but I read a few articles a few years ago stating that under a certain screen size the extra pixels of higher resolutions are wasted... maybe thats not true, who knows.

I don't have 20/20 vision anyway and until I get a new pair of glasses I'm sure 768/720p will be plenty pretty for me. lol.
